favorite this post STILL SEARCHING for: "KISMET"-possibly Renamed 'Archie' & in NW OHIO.. (Maumee/Perrysburg/Rossburg/Toledo Ohio area) hide this posting unhide

Greetings

I am continuing my search & Inquirey of a special dog named "Kismet" w/a special story ~& believed to be w/in the Toledo/Maumee/Rossburg, O. area or Possibly WE Michigan/NE Indiana Area ~ as to the possibility of anyone having ANY info on a young adult dog (under the age of 2 yrs old now) that looked & acted much like a a large golden-red fox w/white paws/chest, pointed ears w/slight black tips on ears & guard hairs, his fur is short & is double-coated w/slightly longer hair around rough of neck w/a soft downy-grey undercoat when you brush his coat back w/your hand)...

Kismet would be approx 45-50+ lbs now & was lost & seen on 'petfinders' in Van Wert, Ohio & when called had been picked up by another rescue/Midwest animal rescue & reposted in the Perrysburg/Maumee, Ohio area ~ having been renamed "Archie"...approx. April/May 2018...

I
Though I mafe many sincere & desperate attempts to contact & verify/communicate I could never seem to get the inquirey I emailed from 'petfinders to respond' w/more than: "he's available for adoption." ~ nor did they respond to the application that was emailed twice...as he was posted for well over 6 wks~?

I attempted to describe & inform them in detail of my desparayion & relief at finding him on petfinders & our bond & his situation having just been rescued approx 3 mos prior & was settling-in & adjusting well & the desire to retrieve him & bring him home...or adopt him...if that was what they required...but to no avail or response...which I had attempted to communicate several times~?

Am not giving-up yet...he has been on my mind & weighing heavily on my heart ever since & believe someone out there has him & will respond eventually...as I would at least like to know where he is & that he is in a loving home & doing ok.

I am 59 widowed/DISABLED & living alone since my husband's passing 7 yrs ago.

I have always had a family companion dog that has been on the 'large-side'.

I've rescued an adult Akita in years past, 'Ringo' from.an amish puppy mill...& when he passed, a 6 mo. old Black Chow, 'Ted Bear'...& following his passing I rescued my last long-time companion, 'Dewey', a Golden Retriever/Chow mix...who came to me & was injured w/a broken hip when he arrived, was about 6 mos old & otherwise was as healthy as a horse til the last year of his life. He was such a great boy...but sadly passed at the age of 13 1/2...1 1/2 yrs ago...

I had someone bring me a sweet 6 yr old Maltese, 'Izzie'...last summer...as her mom was elderly & in failing health & went to a nursing home. Izzie was about 8 lbs way-overweight when she came to me & I've put her on a healthier diet & is doing well & now at an optimum & appropriate weight for her breed & size...she maybe 1-2 lbs over... but, she is sweet & good as can be...(but, have always had a larger dog/companion & I feel she & I both need a bigger companion to love & give big hugs to...& someone else Izzie & I can play & exercise w/too).

I own my own home. Lived here 25 yrs & have a fenced yard w/a 6' wood privacy fence & metal gate. My canine companions have always slept indoors & are able to be out when needed & sleep wherever they prefer...

Kismet is a very intelligent not & full of energy...which if not kept ACTIVE or have plenty of interaction will tend to get into mischief...& can be an escaoe artist...which is how I came to adopt him...

He had been found starving & no one knows how long he had has been fending for himself & was still transitioning from his survival skills...but, I had him over 2 mos & had gotten him on in a quality grain-free dog food & put about 15 lbs on him & he/ his coat was were looking really good...as he was making hoid progress/house-broke & crate-trained at nite...& coming along nicely...

He had been seen & offered for adoption as "Archie" by Midwest animal rescue in Rossburg, Ohio w/only an email & no phone # or address offered for communication...& seemingly a reluctant minimal response telling me he 'was up for adoption' & nothing more or NO response to my request to at least be able to drive over & prove the bond & relationship we had already established...to return him & pay them if that was what was required & seemingly what they were requiring...but not responding to multiple attempts to communicate & his look in the photos they took...just broke my heart that he likely couldn't understand what was happening to him & where I/his home was...

I kept trying to communicate as he was posted for nearly 2 mos...

No other response was ever received...even though I have my phone # & asked to at least communicate by phone directly...???

Sincerely,
K.
