Mowing season is here. I'm located in S. Toledo near Heatherdowns & Eastgate and offer blade sharpening to anyone willing to make the drive. Homeowners and contractors are both welcome.
The before & after pic speaks for itself... I'll remove as little material as possible and turn a dull or chewed up edge into one that's sharper than new using an industrial grade Magna-Matic blade sharpener and balancer. A sharp blade is good for your grass; a balanced blade is good for your mower.
Initial cost for a blade I've never sharpened before is $10 per blade and includes cleaning & balancing. Return customers are eligible for discounts. Most new mower blades cost over $20. Some cost over $30. Save over 50% and have a blade that's sharper than a brand new one.
Ideally you should get your blade(s) sharpened or touched up each Spring. If you mulched or bagged leaves in the Fall then your blades are extremely dull now. Running over leaves for a month in the Fall dulls blades much more than an entire season of mowing grass.
If you're not able or don't have the tools to remove your blade you can bring me your entire mower and I'll do it for an additional $5. This *ONLY* applies to typical push mowers that most homeowners have, not garden tractors or commercial mowers.
Everyone has left as a satisfied customer, but there are still way too many dull blades out there hacking up lawns every week. It's a cheap fix that'll make a real difference in the health and appearance of your lawn.
