I'm looking to start an indie/alternative band in the shadows of Kings of Leon (big influence), Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band, Fleet Foxes, The Band, Neutral Milk Hotel, Deer Tick (big influence) and many others. I play both bass and guitar, but I've got better bass equipment. I've played in an indie rock band and we've recorded a little and played around 15 shows here and there, so I've got some experience. A power trio needs a guitarist. Ability to sing lead is a plus, and you need to at least be able to sing a little harmony! We're playing 90's pop and modern rock, selective top 40, and classic rock of varying styles depending on you the guitarist. Here's what I posted in my last ad.

-I want the guitarist (you) and I to both trade on singing lead and harmony if possible.
-You don't need the best equipment, but I want a like minded player who has found or is looking for his sound on the guitar. If all you have is a mexican-strat, distortion pedal, and a 12 inch mid level amp I'd be glad to take you, but nice stuff is still a plus.
-Need to have a style or working on have a sound style. Not all songs will be direct off recording, but will be an adaption to our "sound" While we will be a cover band that doesn't mean we can't have our own sound. Just strumming eighth note chords will not do! It must be done tight and right!
-Ability to play leads and solos at some level. If you can play like Hendrix thats fantastic that will help us play some burnin rock tunes. If you can play some effective blues leads that's good enough. If you can't play solos well at all contact me anyway. This group also has room for growth!
-fun attitude. This band will be for playing shows and making money.. but we still play music for fun.
-Age has no factor. 18 minimum just so we can play bars. Being young will definitely help the style, but if you are young at heart I will play with you just the same!

Bass player with Pro Equipment, looking for SERIOUS musicians. I've played everything from Motown to Metal, Jazz to Classical, and everything in between. Major influences include Geezer Butler, Jaco pastorius, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Victor Wooten, Frank Zappa, Francisco Tarrega, Flea, Billy Sheehan....In the past I've played with bands such as Stohl'n, and up until a couple months ago, Mobile DeathCamp. I've played with bands such as Mushroomhead, Type O Negative, Hatebreed, 3 Inches of Blood, Green Jelly, Chimaria, Soylant Green, SkeletonWitch, etc...I prefer music with an edge and that contains melody and harmony. Not just how fast and loud you can play. That's not music, that's noise. No drug addicts or alcoholics. I've been on craigslist for a while now trying to find a drummer. They are starting to become harder and harder to come by, so I finally decided to post an ad with hopes of getting some form of response from some musicians. Listen, drummers, this isn't your average band. This is a band that loves to play music, loves to make music, loves to have fun, and loves to make money. This is a band that will progress quickly if given the right set of musicians. This is a band who wants to go all the way.

No, we aren't all professional at our instruments. No, we don't know every aspect of music theory. And no, we don't let that stop us. We learn and we progress. We are good musicians with good ears for music. We are very critical of how music sounds so that is sounds EXACTLY how we want it to. Best of all, we don't stop playing.

Our style is very diverse. Our influences include metal, progressive, alternative, pop, hardcore, punk, and anything else that we like to listen to. We don't limit ourselves to one genre.

We listen to The Academy Is, then we'll listen to White Chapel.
We'll pop in Born of Osiris, then listen to Boxcar Racer.
I think you get the point.

We are aged 18-23. We live in the Toledo area. We want to practice.

What do we look for in a drummer? We want a drummer that loves their instrument and has the drive to be the best drummer he/she can be. Thats all we ask. And some demos of your playing would be nice too!

A power trio needs a guitarist. Ability to sing lead is a plus, and you need to at least be able to sing a little harmony! We're playing 90's pop and modern rock, selective top 40, and classic rock of varying styles depending on you the guitarist. Here's what I posted in my last ad.

-I want the guitarist (you) and I to both trade on singing lead and harmony if possible.
-You don't need the best equipment, but I want a like minded player who has found or is looking for his sound on the guitar. If all you have is a mexican-strat, distortion pedal, and a 12 inch mid level amp I'd be glad to take you, but nice stuff is still a plus.
-Need to have a style or working on have a sound style. Not all songs will be direct off recording, but will be an adaption to our "sound" While we will be a cover band that doesn't mean we can't have our own sound. Just strumming eighth note chords will not do! It must be done tight and right!
-Ability to play leads and solos at some level. If you can play like Hendrix thats fantastic that will help us play some burnin rock tunes. If you can play some effective blues leads that's good enough. If you can't play solos well at all contact me anyway. This group also has room for growth!
-fun attitude. This band will be for playing shows and making money.. but we still play music for fun.
-Age has no factor. 18 minimum just so we can play bars. Being young will definitely help the style, but if you are young at heart I will play with you just the same!

We understand that between work, school, family, friends, relationships, recording, practicing and playing gigs; that it can become very difficult for a band to co-ordinate an effort to book gigs. One of the many things we can help with at blue star is just this. We can help to locate and secure gigs for your band here in Ohio and beyond. Be it an opening slot in Detroit or an entire midwestern tour- we can help!

How does it all work? Simply. That's how. You tell us your availability, age range of members, type of music, where you've played before, travel constraints, webpages for samples and contact info. We search our ever-growing database to find you suitable gigs. Once a gig is found, we confirm with you if you want to take the gig based on the contract terms (you will have 72 hours to decide). If you confirm, simply send a small payment to us for the booking (you will have 72 hours to remit payment or make arrangements); and we pass all the contract info on to you. Best of all, we're out of the way from then on! We ask nothing else! We only get paid if we find you something you want to play! And what do we ask for this? $20 for weeknight shows, $25 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows. That's it! We are the cheapest, most cost-effective booking agent you could ever dream of!

My name is Kristen Basore and I'm a 22 year old masters student at BGSU who has been singing for the past 8 years and played piano for the past 12. I've had experience teaching both voice and piano for over 4 years, working with students of all ages and musical experience. I have also helped prepare these students for auditions and competitions.

If you are looking for a teacher for either voice or piano, I will be moving back into the Bowling Green/Toledo in late August. A very popular and successful option with students is to do an hour lesson with 1/2 going to piano and 1/2 going to voice. We are like 50s girl group/soul and 60s garage/pop, but we have an overall psychedelic atmosphere into an indie rock style of music (influences: Smokey Robinson, My Bloody Valentine, The Zombies, The Kinks, Galaxie 500, The Beach Boys, The Supremes, Sonic Boom, The Shangri-Las, Aztec Camera, Jesus and Mary Chain, Ray Conniff & his Orchestra). I am looking for an experienced/excellent guitarist, bassist, vocalist to form a band that practices and plays quality shows for money $$$ I have played in various bands over the years and am tired of playing shows where the venue is unwilling to pay any money. We are looking for a person who feels they can effectively teach songs and play keyboard/organ for worship service. You would only be required to play for Sunday and do one rehearsal per week. Hello,

I'm a solo artist (vocals and guitar) looking to form a band. I have experience playing out, most currently at the Bronze Boar doing their Thursday night acoustic shows. I've played local art shows, the last being in Toledo, and was once apart of the band Swell, which played a few shows with 250+ people. I'm also in the process of finishing a 10 track demo at Studio in the Woods, which will be a relief when it's finished.

I write music because I'm inspired, and because I can't stop. I would classify the music as alternative rock. I'm influenced by artists/bands like Eddie Vedder, Aaron Lewis, Kurt Cobain, Dave Groll, Brandon Boyd, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Our Lady Peace, and the list goes on. I like the spaciness of bands like Radiohead/Floyd, the grunge rock and lyrics of Cobain, the chill alternative of Boyd, and the rock of Vedder and Groll.

I'm a bassist attending BGSU majoring in jazz studies with bass. I love jazz, but I love playing lots of other music too.

I had a band back home (Celina, OH) that is probably dissolving because the singer is a bass trying to sing rock and roll and it was destroying his voice.

I want to form a cover band power trio that plays a wide variety of music like cover band standards (ie 867-5309, Brown Eyed Girl), "pop rock" from the 90s (Weezer, Green Day, STP), top 40 rock and top 40 adaptions (Maroon 5, Katy Perry) classic rock and oldies (Hendrix, Beatles, Tom Petty, Billy Joel..) and whatever else we decide to slide into a set. Your own tastes will also effect what we play.

Requirements, suggestions, etc:
-I want the guitarist (you) and I to both trade on singing lead and harmony if possible.
-You don't need the best equipment, but I want a like minded player who has found or is looking for his sound on the guitar. If all you have is a mexican-strat, distortion pedal, and a 12 inch mid level amp I'd be glad to take you. If you already have some nice shit thats a plus, but won't really put you in front of anyone else unless its close.
-Need to have a style or working on have a sound style. Not all songs will be direct off recording, but will be an adaption to our "sound" While we will be a cover band that doesn't mean we can't have our own sound. Just strumming eighth note chords will not do! It must be done tight and right!
-Ability to play leads and solos at some level. If you can play like Hendrix thats fantastic that will help us play some burnin rock tunes. If you can play some effective blues leads that's good enough. If you can't play solos well at all contact me anyway. This group also has room for growth!
-fun attitude. This band will be for playing shows and making money.. but we still play music for fun.
-Age has no factor. 18 minimum just so we can play bars. Being young will definitely help the style, but if you are young at heart I will play with you just the same!
